Master’s Thesis Abstract (Vladimir Ðorđević- 268162) *Topic: Conflicts in Kosovo and Georgia through lens of US foreign policy- analytical overview and comparison *Overview: The point of this Master’s thesis is to present an analytical overview and comparison of the specific conflicts in Serbia (Kosovo) and Georgia (South Ossetia/Abkhazia) through lens of US foreign policy. Furthermore, the aim is to try and analyze establishment of any possible connection, if any does exist, between conflicts in Kosovo and South Ossetia/Abkhazia, and most notably, to argue US foreign policy concerning them. Furthermore, the thesis tries to assert respective US interests in the cases presented, explain the motives of such interests, and seek to explain consequent American foreign policy behavior. In addition, critiques of US foreign policy, together with implications and lessons, are also discussed in this thesis, thus encompassing the topic in question and cultivating one view of US foreign policy that the author deems to be his own. Finally, speaking in general terms, the topic of this thesis stands as one of the current and more intriguing issues of the contemporary political scene, thus the author hopes to contribute to scholarly analysis in this direction and provoke further interest in this and similar topics as well.
