Development of population policies in Southeast Asian countries focusing on Thailand and their regional impacts

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá veřejnou politikou a jejími účinky na populační vývoj Thajska, jejím dopadem na postavení země v regionu jihovýchodní Asie od roku 1960 po současnost s predikcí do budoucna. Bakalářská práce se skládá z teoretické, metodické a praktické části. V první části jsou vysvětleny základy populačních teorií a demografické pojmy. Ostatní části práce si kladou za cíl zmapovat vývoj populační politiky na území Thajska a její vliv na demografické ukazatele populace. Na základě provedených analýz bylo zjištěno, že během sledovaného období v Thajsku klesá počet obyvatel, zmenšuje se roční populační přírůstek, klesá míra porodnosti i úmrtnosti, a zvyšuje se oficiální povědomí o možnostech antikoncepce. Ve všech ukazatelích jsou významné regionální rozdíly, které se postupně snižují.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with public policies and their effects on Thailand's population development and their impact on the position of the country in the region of Southeast Asia from 1960 to the present with prediction for the future. The bachelor thesis consists of theoretical, methodological and practical part. The first part explains the basics of population theories, demographic concepts and other parts of the thesis aim to map the development of population policies in Thailand and their impact on demographic indicators of the population. Based on the analyzes, it was found that the population in Thailand decreased during the period under review, the annual population growth was decreasing, the birth rate and mortality rate decreased, and the official awareness of contraceptive options was increased. There are significant regional differences in all indicators, which are gradually decreasing.
