Anotácia:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na roli emocí a emoční inteligenci ve sbírce povídek Raymonda Carvera „Prostřihy“. Práce zkoumá autorův minimalistický styl a schopnost poukazovat na daná témata dějící se pod povrchem psaného slova. Práce se skládá ze dvou částí – teoretické a analytické. Teoretická část obsahuje uvedení do problematiky psychologie emocí, vysvětluje pojem emoční inteligence a nabízí kontext autorovi tvorby. Analytická část představuje literární analýzu těchto povídek a klade důraz na výskyt daných emocí a emoční inteligenci.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the role of emotions and emotional intelligence in Raymond Carver’s collection of short stories - Short Cuts. It examines Carver’s minimalistic writing style and the ability to indicate issues under the surface of the written word. The thesis consists of two parts – theoretical and analytical. The theoretical part provides background in the psychology of emotions, explains the term emotional intelligence, and provides the context for the author’s writing. The analytical part presents a literary analysis of the stories emphasising emotions and emotional intelligence.
