Dramatizations of Božena Němcová's Babička in the time of Normalization

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem "Dramatizace Babičky Boženy Němcové v období normalizace" se zabývá nejprve vymezením politicko-kulturních vztahů po druhé světové válce a následně vytváří souhrnnou charakteristiku divadla v bariérách normalizace. Dále se zaměřuje na výklad kánonu české literatury očima komunistického režimu s důrazem na dezinterpretaci vytvořenou v souvislosti s Boženou Němcovou a její tvorbou Zdeňkem Nejedlým. V následujících kapitolách se věnujeme vybraným významovým polohám dramatizací Babičky uvedených na jevištích mezi lety 19681989 ve vztahu k dobovým požadavkům a Nejedlého interpretaci v závislosti na aspektech, jež byly vymezeny v předchozích kapitolách. Cílem práce je na základě poznatků z oblasti politické a sociokulturní situace v období normalizace u nás dojít k poznání dezinterpretačního výkladu tvorby Boženy Němcové a zjistit, jak se tyto aspekty projevovaly v dramatických zpracováních Babičky z této doby.

Abstract:

The thesis titled "Dramatizations of Božena Němcová's Babička in the normalization period" deals with the definition of political and cultural relations after World War II and subsequently creates summary characteristics of the theater within the period of normalization. It also focuses on the interpretation of the canon of Czech literature through the eyes of the communist regime, with emphasis on misinterpretation created in connection with Božena Němcová and her work by Zdeněk Nejedlý. The following chapters are devoted to selected semantic positions of dramatizations of Babička played on the stages between the years 19681989 in relation to the period requirements and Nejedlý's interpretations depending on the aspects which have been identified in previous chapters. The aim of the work, which is based on the knowledge of the political and socio-cultural situation in the period of normalization on the Czech territory, is to manage to recognize the misinterpretation of work by Božena Němcová and find out how were these aspects projected into dramatical plays of Babička at the time.
