Abstract:

Tato magisterská práce spočívá ve vytvoření a představení digitální datové sady křesťanských řeholních domů v českých zemích od 10. století po současnost na základě devítidílné encyklopedie Milana M. Bubna Encyklopedie řádů a kongregací v českých zemích (2002-2018), která obsahuje nejúplnější přehled mužských řeholních řádů a kongregací v českých zemích, čítající 847 řeholních domů a 68 řádů, kongregací a řeholních společenství, a mapuje jejich působení zde od zahájení jejich činnosti až do současnosti. Tato datová sada Bubnovu encyklopedii integruje do jednoho celku, systematizuje, formalizuje, činí ji filtrovatelnou a strojově zpracovatelnou, a především ji doplňuje o zeměpisné souřadnice, které v jeho díle chybí. Práce posléze databázi využívá k základní deskriptivní statistické analýze, prezentované v řadě grafů, a k vytvoření statického mapového podkladu a interaktivní mapy řeholních domů, která je doplněna i o rozsáhlou fotodokumentaci. Vytvořená časoprostorová vizualizace umožňuje obohatit stávající poznání o komplexní pohled na distribuci různých forem řeholního života v českých zemích a na vzájemné ovlivňování se církve a státu.

Abstract:

This master’s thesis consists in creating and presenting a digital dataset of Christian religious houses in the Czech lands from the 10th century up to the present day based on the nine-volume encyclopedia by Milan M. Buben (Encyklopedie řádů a kongregací v českých zemích, 2002-2018), which contains the most comprehensive overview of male religious orders and congregations in the Czech lands, comprising 847 religious houses and 68 orders, congregations and religious communities, and maps their activities from the beginning to the present. This dataset integrates Buben’s encyclopaedia into a single whole, systematizes it, formalizes it into structured, filterable, and machine-processable data, and above all adds geographical coordinates, which are missing from the work. The thesis then uses the database for a basic descriptive statistical analysis, presented in a series of graphs, and for the creation of a static map of dedications and an interactive map of religious houses, which is supplemented by extensive photo documentation. This spatio-temporal visualization allows to enrich the existing knowledge with a comprehensive overview of the distribution of various forms of religious life in the Czech lands and the mutual influence between the Church and the state.
