Strategic culture of Serbia

Abstract:

Hlavním výzkumným cílem této diplomové práce je identifikovat hlavní zdroje, charakteristiky a nositelé, které mají vliv na formování současné podoby strategické kultury Srbska. Na základě konstrukce podoby srbské strategické kultury se práce zaměřuje na pochopení změn ve strategii Srbska v politice vůči Kosovu a EU během období dvou vlád premiéra Mirka Cvetkoviće (2008-2012) a premiéra Ivicy Dačiće (2012-2014). Úkolem práce je zároveň zhodnocení významu současné podoby strategické kultury Srbska a porozumění společným prvkům a odlišnostem ve strategiích obou vlád v těchto politikách. Ve snaze přijít k závěru a poskytnout odpovědi na výzkumné otázky využívá práce kvalitativní metodu, koncept strategické kultury a diachronní komparaci.

Abstract:

The main objective of this M.A. thesis is to identify the key sources, characteristics and actors that have had an impact on the formation of the current strategic culture in Serbia. The work focuses on understanding the changes in the strategy of Serbia's policy towards Kosovo and the EU during the two governments of Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic (2008-2012) and Prime Minister Ivica Dacic (2012-2014). The research seeks to evaluate the importance of the present strategic culture of Serbia and identifying the common elements and differences in its shaping between both mentioned governments. The work employs qualitative method, the concept of strategic culture and a diachronic comparison.
