Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá postavením a významem porcelánu v prostředí šlechtické společnosti v českých zemích v průběhu 18. a 19. století. Cílem práce je objasnit, jakou roli porcelán sehrával v životě šlechty a jakým způsobem byl využíván jako prostředek společenské reprezentace. V první části práce je představena struktura šlechty na českém území v 18. a 19. století a historický vývoj porcelánu od jeho asijských počátků až po rozšíření výroby v Evropě. Pozornost je věnována také okolnostem, které vedly ke vzniku porcelánových manufaktur v českých zemích na konci 18. století. Následně jsou popsány vybrané porcelánové podniky a formy šlechtického angažmá při jejich zakládání a provozu. Závěrečná část práce se zaměřuje na využití porcelánu v prostředí šlechty za účelem reprezentace ve společnosti, zejména při stolování, společenských událostech a v rámci interiérové výzdoby šlechtických rezidencí. Porcelán je tak v práci představen jako významný kulturní artefakt, který odrážel společenské postavení, životní styl a reprezentativní strategie šlechty.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis examines the position and significance of porcelain within the nobility in the Czech lands during the 18th and 19th centuries. The aim of the thesis is to clarify the role porcelain played in the life of the nobility and the ways in which it was used as a means of social representation. The first part of the thesis presents the structure of the nobility in the Czech lands in the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as the historical development of porcelain from its Asian origins to the expansion of its production in Europe. Attention is also given to the circumstances that led to the establishment of porcelain manufactories in the Czech lands at the end of the 18th century. Subsequently, selected porcelain enterprises are described, along with the forms of involvement of the nobility in their foundation and operation. The final part of the thesis focuses on the use of porcelain within the nobility for purposes of representation, particularly in dining, social events, and within the interior decoration of noble residences. Porcelain is thus presented in the thesis as a significant cultural artefact that reflected the social status, lifestyle, and representational strategies of the nobility.
