Abstract:
Předmětem této diplomové práce jsou české překlady beletrie psané skotskou angličtinou a skotštinou. Práce analyzuje užití dialektu a jeho kulturního kontextu v originálech, a ty následně porovnává s jejich českými překlady. Cílem práce je určit a okomentovat současné trendy v překladu dialektů. Analyzovanými díly jsou romány Most (Iain Banks), Heráci (Irvine Welsh) a Cizinka (Diana Gabaldon).
Abstract:
The subject of this thesis is Czech translations of fiction written in Scottish English or Scots. The thesis analyses the use of the vernaculars and their cultural context in the original works. The novels are then compared to their Czech translations. The objective of the thesis is to identify and comment on the current trends in translation of dialects.
