Residential suburbanization processes in the hinterland of Prague

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá procesem rezidenční suburbanizace v zázemí hlavního města Prahy, které představuje dlouhodobě území s nejintenzivnějším rozvojem suburbanizace v celé České republice. Cílem práce je charakterizovat průběh rezidenční suburbanizace v pražském zázemí v letech 1991 až 2013, vymezit zde hlavní suburbánní zóny a následně na základě případových studií zhodnotit průběh a dopady sledovaného procesu v obcích Květnice a Jesenice a nastínit jeho budoucí vývoj. Z výsledků práce vyplývá, že proces rezidenční suburbanizace se v zázemí hlavního města začal projevovat především po přelomu tisíciletí a jeho nejvyšší intenzity bylo dosaženo zhruba mezi lety 2004 a 2008. Následně došlo k jeho významnému utlumení a v současné době se vyznačuje klesající tendencí. Pro obce v pražském zázemí přináší suburbanizace spíše negativní dopady, které nepříznivě ovlivňují jak rozvoj území, tak i život obyvatel v obcích.

Abstract:

This master's thesis examines the process of residential suburbanization in the hinterland of Prague, which has over a long period represented a region with the most intense development of suburbanization in the Czech Republic. The aim is to characterize the progress of residential suburbanization in the hinterland of Prague between the years 1991 and 2013, define main suburban zones and on the basis of case studies subsequently assess the progress and impact of the observed process in the municipalities Květnice and Jesenice and outline its future development. Results of this paper show that the process of residential suburbanization in the hinterland of the capital has started to emerge primarily after the turn of the millennium and it reached its highest intensity roughly between the years 2004 and 2008. Subsequently, it has gone through a significant decline and is currently characterized by a decreasing tendency. To the villages in the hinterland of Prague suburbanization causes rather negative effects that adversely impact both the development of the area as well as the lives of residents of the municipalities.
