Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je navrhnout a realizovat pět výukových bloků, které jsou propojeny detektivní hrou a vycházejí z metody Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT). Práce zkoumá, zda a jak může metoda TBLT přispět k možnému motivování a zlepšení zážitku z výuky cizího jazyka u žáků. Teoretická část představuje relevantní akademickou literaturu týkající se metody TBLT, s důrazem na strukturu hodiny, jednotlivé úkoly a role jak učitelů, tak žáků. Dále se práce zabývá faktory, které ovlivňují výuku cizího jazyka, především snahou o zapojení do výuky a motivací. Empirická část se zaměřuje na tvorbu a pilotáž navržených výukových sekvencí ve dvou třídách devátého ročníku a následné hodnocení těchto hodin z hlediska jak žáků, tak učitelů. Všechna shromážděná data jsou podrobena analýze a výsledky jsou následně prezentovány spolu s doporučeními na zlepšení.

Abstract:

This master’s thesis aims to design and implement five Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) sequences covering various topics, all held together by a detective treasure hunt. Furthermore, the thesis seeks to explore the potential of this approach for enhancing learners’ learning experience and motivation. The theoretical part reviews relevant academic literature pertaining to the TBLT approach, with a particular focus on the lesson framework, tasks, and the roles of both teachers and learners. Additionally, the work explores factors contributing to individual differences in second language acquisition, including aspects such as engagement or motivation. The empirical part involves creating and implementing the proposed teaching sequences in two ninth-grade classes, followed by evaluation from both learner and teacher perspectives. Finally, all collected data undergoes analysis, and the findings are subsequently presented along with recommendations for improvement.
