In the first part I stated Vilém Mathesius's and Jan Firbas's theories about functional sentence perspective and František Daneš's research on the types of thematic progressions. Abstract:
V první části práce jsem uvedla poznatky Viléma Mathesia a Jana Firbase o aktuálním členění věty a poznatky Františka Daneše o tematických posloupnostech. Druhá část obsahuje příklady jednotlivých prostředků aktuálního členění v angličtině. Nalezené věty jsem porovnala s odpovídajícími českými protějšky. Snažila jsem se ověřit citlivost angličtiny k aktuálnímu členění
