Adolf Franckel and the German theatre in Brno the years of 1866–1875

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá stěžejními událostmi, které doprovázely pronájem německého městského divadla v Brně Adolfu Franckelovi v letech 1866–1875. Je rozdělena do čtyř hlavních kapitol, které chronologicky sledují vývoj německého divadla v Brně v daném období. Hlavní část práce se zabývá problematikou Prozatímního divadla v Brně, o jehož historii není příliš informací. Studiem archivních materiálů a dobového tisku byly definovány některé zásadní události, které ovlivnily tehdejší divadelní vývoj německého divadla v Brně. Práce se věnuje uměleckému fungování divadla i vlivu komunální politiky na divadlo. Tato práce se snaží být příspěvkem k historii německého divadla v Brně v 19. století, která není do současnosti příliš probádaná.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the fundamental events, which conducted the lease of German city theatre to Adolf Franckel in Brno in the years of 1866–1875. It is divided into four main chaptures, which chronologically follow up the progression of German theatre in Brno in the given period. The main part of this thesis deals with the questions of „Prozatímní divadlo“ in Brno, there is few information of its history. Some of fundamental circumstances, which influenced some of peremptory events of then progress of theatre in Brno, were defined by the studies of archival materials and of the contemporary press. This thesis deals with artistic behaviour of the theatre and of the influent of communal policy to the theatre. The thesis tries to be the subsidy to the history of the German theatre in Brno in 19 century – this part of history isn´t too explored in present yet.
