Critical success factors of strategic reporting

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na kritické faktory úspěchu strategického reportingu, jejich definici, zhodnocení a doporučení pro jejich zvládání. Cílem práce je přinést na problematiku kritických faktorů úspěchu strategického reportingu ucelený náhled. V teoretické části práce definuje pojem strategický reporting na základě zavedených konceptů, ze kterých vychází. Těmito koncepty jsou řízení podnikové výkonnosti, Balanced Scorecard, ukazatele výkonnosti a business intelligence. Dále jsou v teoretické části rozebrány další koncepty s dopadem na strategický reporting, kterými jsou datová strategie, data governance a datová kultura ve firmě. V druhé polovině teoretické části je na základě pravidelně vydávaných studií od konzultačních společností provedena rešerše aktuálních trendů v datové analytice a jsou srovnány nejpoužívanější platformy a popsány jejich silné a slabé stránky. V praktické části jsou na základě části teoretické prvně vydefinovány kritické faktory úspěchu strategického reportingu v jednotlivých logických oblastech. Kritické faktory úspěchu jsou následně zhodnoceny, zprioritizovány a jsou uvedena doporučení pro jejich zvládání. Hlavním přínosem je provedené vydefinování a zhodnocení kritických faktorů úspěchu a doporučení pro jejich zvládání, které je možné použít pro zavedení nebo rozvoj strategického reportingu ve firmě, případně pro kontrolu jeho stavu.

Abstract:

This Master´s thesis focuses on the critical success factors of strategic reporting, their definition, evaluation and recommendations for their management. The aim of the thesis is to provide a comprehensive view of the critical success factors of strategic reporting. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the term strategic reporting in the context of established concepts on which it is based. These concepts are corporate performance management, Balanced Scorecard, performance indicators and business intelligence. Further, the theoretical part discusses other concepts with implications for strategic reporting, which are data strategy, data governance and data driven culture in the company. In the second half of the theoretical part, a survey of current trends in data analytics is conducted based on regularly published studies from consulting companies and the most used platforms are compared and their strengths and weaknesses are described. In the practical part, the critical success factors for strategic reporting in each logical area are first defined based on the theoretical part. The critical success factors are then evaluated, prioritized and recommendations for managing them are given. The main contribution is the definition and evaluation of the critical success factors and the recommendations for their management, which can be used for the implementation or development of strategic reporting in a company or to check its status.
