Transportation Policy in the Czech Republic and France

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce „Dopravní politika v ČR a Francii“ je komparativní zhodnocení implementace principů udržitelnosti do dopravních politik České republiky a Francie na národní, regionální a lokální úrovni. Práce nejdříve identifikuje principy udržitelnosti ve strategických a plánovacích dokumentech české a francouzské dopravní politiky a následně se zaměřuje na princip ochrany ovzduší. Identifikuje nástroje, kterými je tento princip implementován v národních, regionálních a místních dopravních strategiích a přístup obou zemí následně srovnává. Empirická část se pak skládá ze dvou případových studií zabývajících se naplňováním principu ochrany ovzduší před znečištěním z dopravy na příkladu imisí oxidu dusičitého, a to ve Statutárním městě Ostrava a Metropoli Rennes.

Abstract:

The goal of the submitted thesis “Transportation Policy in the Czech Republic and France” is a comparative evaluation of the sustainability principles implementation into transportation policies of the Czech Republic and France on the national, regional and local level. Initially the thesis identifies sustainability principles in strategic and planning documents of the Czech and French transportation policy and subsequently it focuses on the principle of air protection. The thesis identifies instruments, by which this principle is implemented into national, regional and local transportation strategies and afterwards it compares the approach of both countries. The empirical part consists of two case studies concerning fullfillment of the principle of air protection against the pollution from transportation via the example of nitrogen dioxide air pollution in the City of Ostrava and the Metropolis of Rennes.
