Integration of migrants in EU countries

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je blíže popsat vývoj a směřování integračních politik Francie, Německa a Velké Británie a posoudit jejich vliv na integraci migrantů. Zaměřuji se nejprve na specifika jednotlivých zemí v jejich sebepojetí a definici národního státu, které se promítají do přístupu k přistěhovalcům. Dále zkoumám hodnocení úspěšnosti integračních politik jednotlivých zemí skrze nástroj Migrant Integration Policy Index. Popisuji vývoj právních opatření v jednotlivých oblastech a jejich změny, následně porovnávám celkové hodnocení tří vybraných států EU. Tyto výsledky se poté snažím popsat v realitě sociální integrace. Hodnotím jejich vliv na skutečnou integraci přistěhovalců a snažím se nalézt problémovou oblast MIPEX, kterou je hlavně absence hodnocení a měření kulturní složky procesu integrace. Kulturní složka má vliv jak na přijímací společnost, tak zejména na každodenní život přistěhovalců.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to further describe the development and direction of integration policies in France, Germany and Great Britain and assess their impact on social integration of migrants. I focus on the specifics of individual countries in their self-concept and their definition of the nation state, which is reflected in the approach to immigrants at first. I examine evaluating the success of integration policies of each country throught a tool Migrant Integration Policy Index. Then I describe the development of legislative measures in various areas and their changes. I also compare the overall ratings of this three selected states. I am trying to describe these results in reality of social integration. I evaluate their impact on the real integration process of immigrants and I am trying to find the problem area of MIPEX. This problem issue is mainly the lack of assessment and measurement of the cultural components of the integration process. The cultural component influences both the receiving society and particularly the daily lives of immigrants.
