Linguistic Analysis of English Used in the Format of Popular Streaming Platforms.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis focuses on linguistic analysis of English used in the communities of the streaming platforms. The text describes the platforms, reasons that may lead to the creation of the online communities which uses the language and looks upon the problematics of the used language. The thesis presents the use of the platforms and points of view of the viewers and streamers. One of the chapters refers to the influence of the platforms on English. The text describes used phrases and emoticons, and shows their forms. There are morphological properties of emoticons and phrases stated, and there are described necessary regulations. The reader will be introduced in the last chapter of the theoretical part to the neologisms, their creation, and gamer slang that Is closely tied to the language of the communities. Research is conducted in a form of anonymous questionnaire that is given out to the viewers. In this part reader can learn, how is the language used and if the English is influenced by the platforms.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá lingvistickou analýzou anglického jazyka používaného v komunitách streamovacích platforem. V textu jsou vysvětleny streamovací platformy, důvody vzniku online komunit, ve kterých se jazyk používá a nastiňuje problematiku jazyka užívaného v komunitách. V práci lze najít využití platforem a pohledy stran diváků a streamerů. Jedním z bodů práce je nastínění problému vlivu platforem na Anglický jazyk. Jsou vysvětleny používané fráze i emotikony a jejich podoba. V textu lze najít I morfologické prvky zmíněných frází a emotikonů, a uvádí potřebné jazykové regulace na platformách. V poslední části teoretické části se čtenář seznámí s neologismy, jejich tvorbou a také hráčským slangem, který je úzce spojený s jazykem komunit. Praktickou částí práce je dotazník, jehož respondenti jsou diváci streamů. Zde se lze dozvědět, jakým stylem je jazyk používán a jestli je ovlivněn platformamy.
