This thesis provides an in-depth exploration of the Catholic Church's diplomatic engagements with China and Japan, examining the historical evolution, cultural nuances, and political complexities of these relationships. Also, it assesses the Church's role as a cultural liaison and its impact on international relations, employing historical and comparative analyses to investigate the Vatican's distinct approaches towards each country. Core themes include challenges in religious freedom, cultural assimilation, and the formulation of strategic diplomatic policies within multifaceted political environments. The study also considers the Church's current and potential future diplomatic stances in light of contemporary trends, emphasizing its pivotal role in shaping global diplomacy and intercultural dialogue.
