Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga Training from Midwife's Perspective

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je jóga v těhotenství a po porodu pohledem porodní asistentky. Teoretická část se zabývá vysvětlením pojmu jógy, její komplexnosti a nabízí jednoduché nastínění její historie. Popisuje základy dvou směrů jógy, jógy těhotenské a poporodní a přibližuje praktické využití v rámci profese porodní asistentky na porodním sále nebo samotným ženám během porodu. Objasňuje problematiku jednotlivých trimestrů těhotenství, komplexního pojetí těhotenské jógy, poporodního období včetně poporodní jógy, a jejich následné doporučení, výhody a kontraindikace k praktikování. V rámci perinatálního období popisuje porod, doby porodní a případnou aplikaci komplexní jógy. Praktická část zahrnuje výsledky kvantitativního dotazníkového šetření realizovaného u zdravotnického personálu a studentů, kteří v rámci vykonávání praxe či povolání přichází do styku s ženami během prenatálního, perinatálního a postnatálního období.

Abstract:

The topic of this bachelor thesis Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga Training from a Midwife’s Perspective. The theoretical section of this thesis focuses on explaining the general yoga terminology, its complexity, and offers a simplified view into its history. It also describes two directions of yoga, pregnancy yoga and postnatal yoga, and it discusses the practical use of yoga as part of a midwife profession in the delivery room, or with women alone during birth. It also elaborates on topics regarding individual pregnancy trimesters, complex perception of pregnancy yoga, postnatal period including postnatal yoga, and their related recommendations, benefits and contradictions for practice. In terms of the prenatal period, this section also describes the birth, natal periods, and possible application of complex yoga. The practical section includes results of a quantitative survey investigation which was conducted with healthcare personnel and students who come in contact with women experiencing prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal periods during their work or studies.
