Statistical Analysis of Indicators Characterizing IT in the EU

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou ukazatelů charakterizujících informační technologie v zemích Evropské Unie. Teoretická část popisuje cíle Evropské komise v oblasti IT, zároveň představuje konkrétní nástroje statistické analýzy, které jsou následně aplikovány v praktické části. Tam je nejprve analyzována oblast vývozu, dovozu a investic do ICT. Následně je podroben rozboru cloud computing podniků a jednotlivců v zemích EU. V další části je detailně analyzován indikátor „jednotlivci nakupující přes internet“ za období let 2006 až 2013. Pro lepší přehled o zemích, které jsou v oblasti využíváni informačních technologií na přibližně stejné úrovni, je použita shluková analýza, která rozděluje státy do tří shluků. Shluková analýza je zároveň použita pro rozčlenění konkrétních IT indikátorů. Následuje korelační analýza těchto indikátorů, jež zkoumá jejich vzájemné závislosti. V závěrečné části práce je použita vícenásobná regresní analýza. Ta zkoumá působení různých nezávislých ekonomických vlivů na závisle proměnnou „domácnosti s vysokorychlostním připojením“.

Abstract:

This thesis analyzes the indicators of information technology in the European Union. The theoretical part describes the objectives of the European Commission in the field of IT, also represents a specific statistical analysis tools, which are then applied in the practical part. First is analyzed the export, import and investment in ICT. Following analysis of cloud computing by enterprises and individuals in the EU countries. The next section is analyzed in detail indicator "individuals purchasing over the Internet" for the period 2006 to 2013. For a better overview of the countries that are in the use of information technology at approximately the same level, is used cluster analysis, which divides into three clusters. Cluster analysis is also used for the breakdown of specific IT indicators. The following is a correlation analysis of these indicators, which examines their interdependence. In the final part is used a multiple regression analysis. It examines the effect of different independent economic influences on the dependent variable "households with broadband connection."
