The Effect of Filler on Heat Build Up of Cyclically Loaded Rubber

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vlivem plniva na hřetí pryže, jež je cyklicky zatěžována. Cílem je připravit sazemi plněnou referenční gumárenskou směs a k tomu dvě sady gumárenských směsí, u nichž je část sazí nahrazena minerálním plnivem, a to u první sady silikou a v případě druhé sady kaolinem. Základem každé směsi je kombinace přírodního, butadienového a styren-butadienového kaučuku. Teoretickou část tvoří literární rešerše, která se věnuje skladbě a přípravě gumárenských směsí, viskoelastickými vlastnostmi pryže a popisuje vybrané zkoušky charakterizující mechanické vlastnosti pryže s ohledem na vývoj hřetí. V praktické části je zdokumentována celková příprava vzorků a vyhodnocen vliv skladby plniva na viskoelastické vlastnosti se zaměřením na vývoj tepla v pryži. To vše je doplněno mechanickými zkouškami charakterizující vlastnosti pryže v tahu a její tvrdost. Závěr práce porovnává vliv siliky a kaolinu na jednotlivé vlastnosti.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the effect of filler on the self-heating of rubber under cyclic loading. The aim is to prepare a carbon black filled reference rubber compound and two sets of rubber compounds in which part of the carbon black is replaced by a mineral filler, namely silica for the first set and kaolin for the second set. The basis of each compound is a combination of natural, butadiene and styrene-butadiene rubber. The theoretical part consists of a literature review, which deals with the composition and preparation of rubber compounds, the viscoelastic properties of the rubber and describes selected tests to characterize the mechanical properties of the rubber with regard to the development of temperature. In the practical part, the overall sample preparation is documented and the effect of filler composition on viscoelastic properties is evaluated with a focus on temperature development in rubber. All this is complemented by mechanical tests characterizing the tensile properties of the rubber and its hardness. The paper concludes by comparing the effect of silica and kaolin on the individual properties.
