Financial Literacy Factors of Seniors

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce „Faktory finanční gramotnosti seniorů“ je charakteristika a systematizace přístupů zabývajících se finanční gramotností a výzkum finanční gramotnosti s cílem identifikace a analýzy faktorů, které ovlivňuji finanční gramotnost seniorů. První část diplomové práce obsahuje ve čtyřech kapitolách teoretická východiska potřebná pro zpracování praktické části. Druhá část diplomové práce je praktického charakteru a věnuje se výzkumu finanční gramotnosti seniorů. Kvantitativní výzkum vychází z vlastního dotazníkového šetření, kterého se zúčastnilo 484 osob starších 60 let. Získané poznatky výzkumu jsou zde rozebrány a komparovány s vybranými výzkumy finanční gramotnosti. Pomocí statistických metod, zejména analýzy rozptylu, jsou následně identifikovány a analyzovány faktory finanční gramotnosti seniorů. Shrnutí hlavních zjištění a formulace doporučení je součástí poslední kapitoly diplomové práce.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis Financial Literacy Factors of Seniors deals with characteristics and systematization of techniques concerning financial literacy as well as financial literacy research of seniors aiming identification and analysis of the factors effecting financial literacy of seniors. The first part of the study points out within its four chapters the theory necessary to proceed to the research in the practical part. The second part of the study concerns the financial literacy research itself. The presented quantitative research is based on a questionnaire delivered to 484 seniors older than 60 years of age. The findings gained are then discussed and compared with chosen findings of financial literacy researches. The following characteristics and analysis of the financial literacy factors of seniors are done through statistical techniques, especially analysis of variance. The summary part presents the main findings and gives recommendations.
