Tear Film and Ocular Surface within the Population Suffering from Cataracts

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá tématem slzného filmu a povrchu oka u pacientů, kterým byla diagnostikována katarakta a kterým byla následně provedena operace katarakty metodou fakoemulsifikace. Diplomová práce je tvořena částí teoretickou a praktickou. Na začátku teoretické části je krátce popsána anatomie struktur souvisejících se slzným filmem. Další kapitola se věnuje slznému filmu, jeho struktuře a fyziologii. Dále je zde popsán syndrom suchého oka, jeho příčiny, příznaky a způsoby léčby. Následně jsou popsány metody vyšetření slzného filmu, keratitidy a nemoci slzného ústrojí. Závěr teoretické části je věnován problematice katarakty. Výzkumná část diplomové práce se zabývá zpracováním výsledků výzkumu, kdy byla měřena kvantita slzného filmu, kvalita slzného filmu, dále byl hodnocen stav epitelu rohovky a zjišťovala se přítomnost příznaků syndromu suchého oka. Ve výzkumné části jsou porovnávány předoperační a pooperační hodnoty měření, ale jsou zde zhodnoceny i výsledky předoperačních měření zvlášť.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the subject of tear film and eye surface in patients who were diagnosed with cataract and who were subsequently subjected to cataract surgery using the phacoemulsification. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical parts. At the beginning of the theoretical part the anatomy of tear film-related structures is briefly described. The next chapter deals with the tear film, its structure and physiology. There is also described dry eye syndrome, its causes, symptoms and methods of treatment. Subsequently, the examination methods of tear film, keratitis and lacrimal diseases are described. The conclusion of the theoretical part is devoted to the issue of cataract. The research part of the thesis deals with the processing of research results, when was measured the quantity and the quality of the tear film, the state of the corneal epithelium was assessed and the presence of symptoms of dry eye syndrome was detected. In the research part, preoperative and postoperative measurement values are compared, but the results of preoperative measurements are also evaluated.
