History of the German in Brno to 1950

Abstract:

This bachelor´s dissertation is focused on the history of the Germans in Brno and their common life with the Czech people to 1950. In the theoretical part, the reader is informed about the historical development in Brno, the coming of Germans to the city and about the relationship between Germans and Czechs. Furthermore, this work deals with their coexistence in the Hapsburg Monarchy, Czechoslowakia, during the World War Two and after the transfer of the Germans until 1950. In the practical part, the dissertation analyses and compares the witnesses evidence of the German unions in Brno, about their coexistence with Czechs in common life and after the eviction of Germans from Brno in 1945. The method used in this dissertation was the interview, questionnaire, written and e-mail correspondence.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá historií brněnských Němců a jejich soužitím s českým obyvatelstvem do roku 1950. V teoretické části je čtenář informován o historickém vývoji města Brna, o příchodu Němců do města a o vztazích mezi Němci a Čechy. Dále se práce zabývá jejich soužitím v Habsburské monarchii, v Československu, během II. světové války a po odsunu až do roku 1950. V praktické části práce jsou analyzovány a srovnávány výpovědi členů německých spolků v Brně o jejich životních zkušenostech se soužitím s Čechy v běžném životě i po odsunu brněnských Němců v roce 1945. Jako metodický postup byl zvolen rozhovor, dotazník, písemná a e-mailová korespondence.
