Our country proved its ability to meet the pre-admission criteria and it became a full-fledged member of the European Economic and Monetary Union on 1 January 2009. Naša krajina preukázala schopnosť splniť predvstupové kritériá a 1. januára 2009 sa stala platným členom Európskej hospodárskej a menovej únie.
