Hippotherapy for hemiparetic form of cerebral palsy

Abstract:

Úvod práce se zabývá rešerší dostupných zdrojů zabývajících se problematikou využití hipoterapie ve fyzioterapii a ergoterapii u dětí s diagnostikovanou mozkovou obrnou. V teoretické části je popsána mozková obrna, její příčiny vzniku, formy, možnosti léčby. Dále se práce zabývá hipoterapií ve fyzioterapii a ergoterapii (HTFE) a možnostmi uplatnění v léčebné rehabilitaci. Cílem práce je poukázat na možnost efektivního využití HTFE v rámci léčby hemiparetické formy mozkové obrny. Metodikou je případová studie dětské klientky. Použitým metodologickým nástrojem byl rozhovor s rodiči, pozorování při terapiích a sestavení vlastních hodnotících prvků pro efekt HTFE. U klientky došlo díky HTFE ke zlepšení ve více oblastech. Zlepšila se funkce postižené horní končetiny, zejména při manipulaci s předměty, rozložení opory horních končetin pozici na čtyřech při měření po poslední terapii bylo téměř symetrické. Zlepšil se i stereotyp chůze. Závěrem by se dalo říct, že HTFE je vhodnou a těžko nahraditelnou součástí ucelené rehabilitace děti s mozkovou obrnu.

Abstract:

In the first part of the thesis author offers a research of available sources on utilization of Hippotherapy in physiotherapy and occupational therapy in children with diagnosed cerebral palsy. The theoretical part is focusing on a description of cerebral palsy, its etiology, forms and treatment options. The thesis further looks into Hippotherapy in physiotherapy and occupational therapy and its therapeutic possibilities in rehabilitation. A main goal of the thesis is to show that hippotherapy can be effectively utilized in the treatment of hemiparetic form of cerebral palsy. The thesis is written as a case study. The following tools have been used in the study's methodology: interview with parents, observation during therapeutic sessions and authors own testing set for an effect assessment of Hippotherapy in physiotherapy and occupational therapy. The client has demonstrated noticeable improvment in multiple areas. The function of the paretic upper extremity got improved, especially manipulation with different items. Weight bearing of both upper extremities on a position on all four almost symmetrized. The gait stereotype has gottem improved. In conclusion Hippotherapy in physiotherapy and occupational therapy is a suitable and irreplaceable part of comprehensive rehabilitation in children with cerebral palsy.
