Google Tools Suitable for Teaching English

Anotácia:

Diplomová práce „Nástroje Googlu využitelné ve výuce angličtiny“ má za úkol seznámit čtenáře s nástroji Googlu a prozkoumat je z pohledu potenciálního využití ve výuce anglického jazyka. V teoretické části jsou jednotlivé nástroje stručně charakterizovány, vymezeny jejich možnosti a předpoklady pro úspěšnou aplikaci ve výuce cizího jazyka. Praktická část mapuje použití některých nástrojů v kurzech dospělých studentů a testuje vhodnost využití těchto prostředků při výuce všech úrovní – od začátečníků po pokročilé. Výzkum zahrnuje konkrétní učební plány včetně zpětné vazby od učitele i studentů. Zároveň jsou uvedeny tipy na další možné využití. V neposlední řadě jsou zhodnoceny přednosti a možná rizika využití nástrojů Googlu v jazykové výuce obecně a pozornost je též soustředěna na jejich uplatnění v základním a středním vzdělávání a jejich kompatibilita s Rámcovým vzdělávacím programem.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis „Google tools suitable in teaching English“ tries to introduce Google tools to the reader and explore them from the point of view of their exploitation in teaching English. Theoretical part focuses on brief description of individual tools, aiming to identify their potential as a future teaching tool in foreign language lessons. Practical part surveys exploiting some of the applications in adult classes and tests the suitability of these tools in teaching learners of all levels – beginners to advanced. The research includes concrete piloted lesson plans including a feedback from the teacher and the students. Moreover, ideas on further utilization are added. Last but not least, general advantages and possible risks and drawbacks of using the Google tools in language classes are listed and evaluated. Attention is also focused on their implementing to elementary and secondary teaching and a compatibility with Framework Educational Programme.
