Spiritual needs of university students

Abstract:

The aim and content of my thesis in the first chapter is a synthesis of knowledge of the local plane of the spirituality. The second chapter focuses on the definition of religiosity, to distinguish the concept of religiosity from spirituality, on various types of religiosity and the other approaches and components of this concept in association with spirituality. The third chapter deals with the definition of need and spiritual needs, the classification needs together with spiritual and religious development of needs and in the last chapter focuses on the concept of God in the context of religiosity. The focus of this thesis is a quantitative survey with analysis and comparison of obtained results. The main objective is to determine whether individual variables, such as gender, faith, study orientation and family background influence the preference of the spiritual needs of university students, further to determine the relationship of students to spiritual issues, their perception of the importance of spiritual needs and finally to determine in which areas of live, faith in God helps to faithful students and to which the specific phenomenon they attribute their faith.

Abstract:

Cieľom a obsahom mojej diplomovej práce v prvej kapitole je syntéza poznatkov z obecnej roviny oblasti spirituality. V druhej kapitole sa sústreďujem na vymedzenie pojmu religiozita, na odlíšenie pojmu religiozita od pojmu spiritualita, na jednotlivé typy religiozity a na ďalšie prístupy a zložky tohto pojmu v asociácii so spiritualitou. V tretej kapitole sa venujem vymedzeniu pojmu potreba a spirituálna potreba, klasifikácii potrieb spolu so spirituálnym a religióznym vývojom potrieb a v poslednej kapitole sa zameriavam na koncept Boha v kontexte religiozity. Ťažiskom práce je kvantitatívne dotazníkové šetrenie s analýzou a komparáciou získaných výsledkov. Hlavným cieľom je zistiť, či jednotlivé premenné, akými sú pohlavie, viera, vek, študijné zamerania a rodinný kontext vplývajú na preferovanie daných spirituálnych potrieb študentov vysokých škôl, ďalej zistiť vzťah študentov k spirituálnym otázkam, ich vnímanie významu pojmu spirituálne potreby a v závere zistiť, v ktorých oblastiach života pomáha veriacim študentom viera v Boha a k akému konkrétnemu fenoménu svoju vieru pripisujú.
