Specifics of Young Adult Literature

Abstract:

Tato magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá kategorií young adult literatury a problematikou jejího sporného vymezení. V rámci otázky zařazování knih do této oblasti se věnuje určení jejích základních rysů, a to konkrétně cílové skupiny čtenářů, typických témat, časoprostoru a žánrů. Taktéž je zde zmapován současný stav young adult literatury v českém prostředí a spojitost dané věkové kategorie s marketingem a knižními influencery, jejichž výroky, shromážděnými prostřednictvím online dotazníkového šetření, je výzkum doplněn. Cílem této práce je vymezit rysy young adult literatury v rámci problematiky crossoveru a nejednoznačného zařazování těchto knih, popsat situaci v českém prostředí a prozkoumat spojitosti s knižním influencerstvím v České republice. Bádání navazuje na analýzu reprezentací knižních influencerů na sociálních sítích, popsaných v rámci bakalářské práce.

Abstract:

The subject of this master's thesis is the category of Young Adult literature and the issue of its disputed definition. As part of the question of classifying books in this area, it is focused on determining its basic features, namely the target group of readers, typical topics, time-space, and genres. It also mapped here the current state of Young Adult literature in the Czech Republic and the connection of the given age category with marketing and the book influencers, whose statements, collected through an online questionnaire survey, complement the research. The aim of this thesis is to define the features of Young Adult literature within the framework of the issue of crossover and the ambiguous classification of these books, to describe the situation in the Czech environment, and to explore the connections with the book influencers in the Czech Republic. The research follows the analysis of the representations of the book influencers on social networks, described in the bachelor's thesis.
