The failure of Lehman Brothers in the context of struggle for bailout before the outbreak of the global financial crisis
Abstract:
Tato diplomová práce je věnována bankrotu jedné z největších investičních bank – Lehman Brothers. Krom analýzy bankrotu samotného se specializuje na specifikaci důvodů, které k tomuto úpadku přispěly. Samozřejmě zahrnuje i vysvětlení toho, proč nebyl Lehman Brothers poskytnut bailout americkou vládou, jako tomu bylo v případě ostatních investičních bank před a během globální finanční krize.
Abstract:
This master thesis is dealing with bankruptcy of one of the largest investment banks – Lehman Brothers. Besides analysis of bankruptcy itself, it is focused on reasons which led to the failure. It also contains explanation of American government, not to bailout Lehman Brothers, while bailing out other investment banks before and during global financial crisis.
