Creation, Observance and Evalution of Rules in the 1st Grade of Primary Schools

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá pravidly specificky zaměřenými na první třídu základní školy, na jejich tvorbu, dodržení, hodnocení a na faktory, které ovlivňují jejich fungování. Cílem práce je popsat postupy učitelů při práci s pravidly v 1. třídách základních škol. V teoretické části jsou shrnuty poznatky o třídím managementu pravidel, zejména o jeho přístupech, oblastech a strategiích. Zároveň jsou vymezena třídní pravidla, jejich význam a typologie pravidel. Dále jsou popsány faktory ovlivňující fungování pravidel v 1. třídách, jako je význam školské politiky a školy, faktory rodinného zázemí, individuální charakteristiky, rovněž je zde uvedena problematika školní adaptace žáků 1. tříd a celkové zahájení školního roku. Následně jsou popsána specifika managementu pravidel v 1. třídách, konkrétně vytváření, prezentace, podpora funkčnosti pravidel a rovněž i jejich dodržování a případné sankce za jejich nedodržení. V empirické části jsou interpretovány výsledky z kvalitativně zaměřeného výzkumu. Ke sběru dat byly využity metody polostrukturovaného interview s učitelkami 1. tříd základních škol a nestrukturované pozorování práce s pravidly. Získaná data byla analyzována pomocí techniky otevřeného kódování. Výsledky odkryly konkrétní postupy, které učitelé při práci s pravidly využívali.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on rules specifically tailored to the first grade of primary school, their creation, enforcement, evaluation, and factors influencing their functioning. The aim of this thesis is to describe the procedures of teachers working in compliqnce with the rules in first-grade classes of primary schools. The theoretical part summarizes the knowledge about classroom rules management, especially its approaches, areas, and strategies. At the same time, classroom rules, their significance, and typology are defined. Furthermore, factors influencing the functioning of rules in first grades are described, such as the importance of school policy and the school itself, family background factors, individual characteristics, as well as the issue of school adaptation of first-grade pupils and the overall start of the school year. Subsequently, the specifics of rules management in first grades are described, specifically the creation, presentation, support of rules functionality, as well as their enforcement and possible sanctions for non-compliance. In the empirical part, the results of a qualitatively focused research are interpreted. Data collection methods included semi-structured interviews with first-grade teachers from primary schools and unstructured observation of rules work. The collected data were analyzed using open coding techniques. The results revealed specific procedures that teachers used in working with rules.
