Impacts of the entry of the Baltic States into NATO

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá analýzou dopadů vstupu pobaltských států do NATO. Ta je provedena na základě zkoumání aktivit a míry začlenění těchto států do Aliance, také toho, co právě NATO těmto státům nabízí a jaké povinnosti a závazky vůči NATO mají. Na základě tohoto výzkumu je rozhodnuto, že díky plnění finančních závazků a harmonii jejich bezpečnostních koncepcí s tou alianční, pobaltské státy všechny své závazky plní. Dále také na základě jejich zapojení do aktivit NATO, zejména "Smart Defence", pořádání velkých aliančních cvičení, zapojení do sil rychlé reakce, a především v aktivní účasti na většině zahraničních misí NATO, je rozhodnuto, že pobaltské státy jsou právoplatnými členy Aliance a jejich vstup není jen jednostrannou garancí bezpečnosti a kolektivní obrany.

Abstract:

This work deals with the analysis of the impact of the entry of the Baltic states into NATO. This is done by exploring the activities and levels of integration of these states into the Alliance, as well as what NATO has to offer to these states and what obligations and commitments they have to NATO.Based on this research, it is decided that the fulfillment of the financial obligations and the harmony of their security concepts with the 2010 Strategic Concept, the Baltic States fulfill all their obligations. Furthermore, based on their involvement in NATO activities, in particular "Smart Defense", the organization of major Alliance's exercises, involvement in rapid reaction forces, and in active participation in most NATO foreign missions, it is decided that the Baltic States are the rightful members of the Alliance and their entry is not just a one-sided guarantee of security and collective defense.
