Specifics in Auditory Perception and Oral Speech Comprehension in People with Asperger Syndrome

Abstract:

Disertační práce se věnuje specifikům v oblasti sluchového vnímání a porozumění mluvené řeči u osob s Aspergerovým syndromem. Je rozdělena na část teoretickou a výzkumnou. Teoretickou část práce tvoří tři kapitoly, které komparují a analyzují dostupné informace z tuzemské a zahraniční literatury týkající se poruch autistického spektra, Aspergerova syndromu a diagnostiky narušené komunikační schopnosti u osob s PAS. V rámci prvních dvou kapitol se podrobněji věnujeme také specifikům v oblasti smyslového vnímání a porozumění mluvené řeči u osob s PAS. Výzkumná část disertační práce se věnuje jednak zmapování a analýze výskytu specifik v oblasti sluchového vnímání, ale také zjištění míry porozumění mluvené řeči u osob s Aspergerovým syndromem. První kapitola je věnována jednotlivým dílčím výzkumným šetřením, jejichž společným cílem bylo zjištění výskytu a projevů specifik v oblasti sluchového vnímání a porozumění mluvené řeči u osob s Aspergerovým syndromem, a to pomocí dotazníkových šetření u odborníků, rodičů těchto osob a pomocí polostrukturovaných rozhovorů u samotných osob s Aspergerovým syndromem. Poslední podkapitola pak zjišťuje a analyzuje míru porozumění mluvené řeči u osob s Aspergerovým syndromem na základě výsledků Token testu. Pátá kapitola pak komparuje a analyzuje výsledky všech výzkumných šetření. Šestou kapitolu tvoří závěr.

Abstract:

The dissertation thesis deals with the specific aspects of hearing perception and understanding of spoken language in people with the Asperger syndrome. It consists of two parts, a theoretical and a practical. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters, which compare and analyse information on autistic spectrum disorders, the Asperger syndrome and diagnosis of impaired communication skills in people with autistic spectrum disorders. The first two chapters discuss the specific aspects of sensory perception and understanding of spoken language in people with ASD in greater detail. The practical part of the dissertation thesis focuses on mapping and analysing the characteristics of hearing perception as well as on determining the level of understanding of spoken language in people with the Asperger syndrome. Chapters one cover individual partial studies, the common aim of which has been to identify the occurrence and manifestations of the specific characteristics of hearing perception and understanding of spoken language in people with the Asperger syndrome. To this end, a survey was conducted among specialists and parents of patients with the Asperger syndrome, complemented by a series of semi-structured interviews with these persons themselves. Last subchapter investigates and analyses the level of understanding of spoken language in people with the Asperger syndrome based on the results of a Token Test. The final chapters compare and analyse the results of all studies and discusses the conclusions.
