The importance of nonverbal communication in the teaching process

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na význam nonverbální komunikace ve vyučovacím procesu. Práce je členěna na dvě části ? na část teoretickou a na část praktickou. V teoretické části objasňujeme význam termínu ?komunikace?, přibližujeme původ neverbální komunikace, její úzké propojení s emocemi a také konkretizujeme jednotlivé nonverbální projevy. Empirická část práce zahrnuje výzkumné šetření zaměřené na nonverbální komunikaci v pedagogickém procesu. Cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit, jaké neverbální prostředky používají pedagogové v jednotlivých fázích vyučování. Zkoumali jsme, zda se proměňuje učitelův výběr těchto prostředků v závislosti na jednotlivých fázích vyučování a také bylo naším cílem objasnit, v které fázi vyučovací jednotky pedagogové nejčastěji používají zobrazovací gesta. Z výzkumu vyplývá, že se nonverbální prostředky v jednotlivých fázích vyučování mění a že pedagogové nejčastěji používají zobrazovací gesta v motivační, aplikační a diagnostické fázi.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on the importance of nonverbal communication in the teaching process. The work is divided into two parts ? theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part explains the meaning of the term ?communication?, approaching the origin of nonverbal communication, its close links with the emotions, and specifies the various nonverbal expressions. The empirical part of the research involves an investigation into the nonverbal communication in teaching. The aim of the thesis was to find out what kinds of nonverbal means are used by teachers in various stages of teaching. We looked at whether teachers´ choice of the means changes, depending on the stages of teaching, and it was also our aim to clarify at which stage of teaching unit teachers most commonly used imaging gestures. The research suggests that nonverbal means in various stages of teaching change, and also that teachers most commonly used imaging gestures in motivation, application and diagnostic stages of teaching.
