Shinto: the conceptualization of Japanese religious traditions in Western guise
Abstract:
Práce se zaměřuje na otázku konceptualizace japonských náboženských tradic, zejména šintó v západní literatuře 16. až 20. století. Testuje hypotézu prof. Balagangadhary, že náboženské tradice Asie jako buddhismus, hinduismus, šintó atd. nejsou skutečnými entitami, ale produktem teoretického rámce sekularizované křesťanské teologie.
Abstract:
The work focuses on the problem of conceptualization of Japanese religious traditions, namely Shinto in Western guise between 16th and 20th centuries. It tests the hypothesis by prof. Balagangadhara that religious traditions such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Shinto are not real entities but a product of the theoretical framework of the secularized Christian theology.
