Negative factors affecting workplace relations

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje problematice vztahů na pracovišti, s úzkým zaměřením na negativní faktory, které tyto vztahy ovlivňují. Z teoretického i praktického hlediska zkoumá příčiny, průběh a důsledky konfliktů v zaměstnání. Detailně charakterizuje a rozebírá chování aktérů při různých formách šikany na pracovišti. Přináší možné způsoby prevence a eliminace těchto faktorů, poukazuje na role konkrétních osob či útvarů ve firmách v řešení této problematiky, zejména pak na roli a osobnost liniových manažerů, kteří sehrávají v řízení pracovních vztahů stěžejní roli. V praktické části se autor snaží formou dotazníku a rozhovorů odhalit existenci šikany na konkrétním pracovišti. Zkoumá vazbu tohoto jevu na celkovou spokojenost zaměstnanců. Snaží se také zodpovědět otázku, proč v jedné firmě existují oddělení s různou tendencí ke vzniku konfliktů. V závěru předkládá návrhy možných změn a opatření, které mohou vést ke zlepšení v této oblasti.

Abstract:

This thesis is dedicated to relationships in the workplace, with a strong focus on the negative factors that affect these relationships. It investigates the reasons, process and consequences of the conflicts at work from a theoretical and practical perspective. It analyses and characterizes in detail the behaviour of people in various forms of mobbing in the workplace, brings the possible ways of preventing and eliminating these factors, points to the role of specific persons and departments in companies dealing with these issues, particularly the role of line managers who play the main role in the relationship management. In the practical part, the author tries to reveal the existence of mobbing at the particular work place by the form of a questionnaire and interviews and examines the links between this phenomenon and overall satisfaction of employees. He also tries to answer the question, why there are departments with different tendencies to conflicts in one company. In conclusion, he submits proposals for possible changes and measures that can lead to improvements in this area.
