The issue of injuries for chilldren at 2nd. degree of primary school while playing ice hockey.

Abstract:

Smyslem práce bylo popsat výskyt a příčiny zranění u dětí ve věku 2. stupně základní školy při hře ledního hokeje, prostřednictvím jednorázového nestandardizovaného dotazníku. Bylo osloveno 180 respondentů ze tří hokejových klubů, HC AZ Havířov, HC Kopřivnice a HC Býci Karviná. Průzkumu se zúčastnilo celkem 136 hráčů, z důvodu neúplné návratnosti dotazníků. Nejčastěji zraňovanou hráčskou pozicí je pravé křídlo a centr, 75 % uvedených úrazů vzniklo v průběhu hokejového zápasu, nejčastější příčinou vzniku zranění byla srážka s protihráčem (28 %) a nejvíce zraňovanou částí těla byly horní a dolní končetina, u každé téměř 40 %. Snížením četnosti zranění by mohlo být zavedení přísnějších pravidel týkajících se osobních soubojů v této věkové kategorii.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to describe the occurence and the causes of injuries among second degree elementary school children who play ice hockey. This was achieved by using a one-time non-standardized questionnaire. 180 responders were approached from three hockey clubs - HC AZ Havířov, HC Kopřivnice a HC Býci Karviná. Only 136 players took part in this research, the reason being that not all of the surveys were returned. In most cases, the most frequently injured players are either on the right wing position or center, 75 % of the mentioned injuries were caused during a hockey game, the most often reason of injury was collision with another player from the competing team (28 %) and the most frequent parts of the human body injured were the upper and lower limbs which was about 40 % for each. It would be possible to reduce these injury rates if sterner rules were introduced and established in connection with face to face encounters in this age category.
