Diophantine approximations of infinite products

Abstract:

Thesis consists of two main parts and deals with the numbers in the form $$\prod_{n=1}^\infty\Bigl(1+\frac{1}{a_nc_n}\Bigr)\,,$$ where $\{a_n\}_{n=1}^\infty$ is given sequence. The first part is focused on expressible sets, i.e. the set of numbers, which can be expressed in the form (1). Such set is complicated and depends on the sequence $\{a_n\}_{n=1}^\infty$. In the thesis, the expressible set is calculated under various conditions on the sequence $\{a_n\}_{n=1}^\infty$. The second part of the thesis deal with the linear independence of numbers of form (1). There are presented various conditions under which the numbers of form (1) are linearly independent over the rational numbers. Some criteria of irrationality are given as consequences.

Abstract:

Práce se skládá ze dvou hlavních částí a zabývá čísly ve tvaru $$\prod_{n=1}^\infty\Bigl(1+\frac{1}{a_nc_n}\Bigr)\,,$$ kde $\{a_n\}_{n=1}^\infty$ je daná posloupnost. První část je zaměřena na vyjádřitelné množiny, tzn. množiny čísel, která můžeme vyjádřit ve tvaru (1). Taková množina je komplikovaná a zavisí na posloupnosti $\{a_n\}_{n=1}^\infty$. V práci je vyjádřitelná množina spočítána pro různé předpoklady kladené na posloupnost $\{a_n\}_{n=1}^\infty$. Druhá část práce se zabývá linární nezávislostí čísel ve tvaru (1). V práci jsou uvedeny různé podmínky, za kterých jsou čísla ve tvaru (1) lineárně nezávislá nad racionálními čísly. Jako důsledky jsou uvedena kritéria iracionality.
