Teoretická část diplomové práce se zabývá vymezením pojmů z oblasti lidské práce, zaměstnání a nezaměstnanosti. Uvádí význam práce a zaměstnání pro člověka, vznik, druhy a dopady nezaměstnanosti. Dále rozebírá problematiku zátěže a krize, prožívané při ztrátě zaměstnání. Praktická část práce uvádí výsledky výzkumu zjišťující míru zátěže vyvolané ztrátou zaměstnání. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the concepts from the field of labor, employment and unemployment.
