Epidemiology of oesophageal cancer

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je epidemiologie karcinomu jícnu. Práce je psána formou literární rešerše, která popisuje anatomii jícnu, nejčastější zhoubné nádory jícnu, jejich diagnostiku, léčbu a prognózu. Dále se zabývá možnými rizikovými faktory a možnostmi prevence. Součástí práce je také popis epidemiologické situace karcinomu jícnu v České republice a ve světě. Karcinom jícnu je vážné nádorové onemocnění, které se vyskytuje ve vyšším věku. Incidence i mortalita tohoto onemocnění stále narůstá. Pro zavedení preventivních opatření hraje důležitou roli znalost rizikových faktorů.

Abstract:

The topic of the bachelor thesis is epidemiology of oesophageal cancer. This bachelor thesis is written in the form of literature review which describes the anatomy of esophagus, the most common malignant tumors, their diagnosis, treatment and prognosis. It also deals with the possible risk factors and the prevention options. The part of of the bachelor thesis is description of the epidemiological situation of oesophageal cancer in the Czech republic and in the world. The oesophageal cancer is serious neoplastic disease which occurs at the elderly human. Incidence and mortality of this disease is still increasing. Knowledge of the risk factors is important for the implmentation of the preventive measures.
