Simulation Game – Managing a Cattle Farm

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje analýze, návrhu a implementaci simulační hry ve formě webové aplikace, určené k praktickému ověření znalostí studentů Mendelovy univerzity v Brně v oblasti chovu skotu a správy farmy. Cílem je obohatit tradiční vzdělávací metody interaktivní a zábavnou formou učení, která by zvýšila motivaci a zapojení studentů do studia. Práce se zaměřuje na vývoj aplikace rozdělené do frontendové a backendové části, které spolu vzájemně komunikují. Klíčové je za- členění herních principů do struktury aplikace pro podporu vzdělávacího procesu, stejně jako automatizace procesu sestavení a nasazování pro snadnou distribuci a do- stupnost. Výsledkem je prototyp hry, který je funkční a nabízí nový způsob zapojení studentů k procvičení jejich získaných znalostí.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the analysis, design, and implementation of a simulation game in the form of a web application, designed for the practical verification of knowledge of students from Mendel University in Brno in the field of cattle breeding and farm management. The goal is to enrich traditional educational methods with an interactive and entertaining form of learning that would increase motivation and student engagement in their studies. The work concentrates on the development of the application divided into frontend and backend parts, which communicate with each other. Incorporating gaming principles into the application structure to support the educational process is key, as is the automation of the assembly and deployment process for easy distribution and availability. The result is a game prototype that is functional and offers a new way for students to engage in practicing their acquired knowledge.
