Adult preference and perceived meaning of colours

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce popisuje vnímání barev člověkem. Představuje barvy z hlediska fyziky, využití těchto poznatků v moderních technologiích a v malířství. Popisuje vnímání barev v historických souvislostech. Dále se zabývá pohledem na barvy v počátcích jejich zkoumání člověkem z hlediska filozofie a psychologie z pohledu J. W. Goetha, Maxe Lüschera, Rožnovské arteterapie a výzkumů významu barev v moderní psychologii. Pomocí průzkumu preferencí barev u dospělých zjišťuje jak lidé vnímají barvy a jaké významy jim přisuzují. Závěrem shrnuje zjištěné výsledky významů barev.

Abstract:

This Bachelor of Arts essay describes the human perception of colour. The author draws attention to the use of coulour by modern scientists in physics, its use in modern technogies and in modern art, and describes the human perception of colour in a historical context. Further she describes the origins of research of human perception of colour in a philosophical and psychological point of view, by drawing attention to the the works of people like J.W. Goethe and Max Lüscher, and the Rožnov Faculty of Artetherapy, namely its research on the meaning of colour in modern psychology. With the aid of field research, using a specific number of adult population, the author presents her findings of their perceived meaning and level of importance they attribute to colour. In conclusion the author presents her overall findings of the adult perception of colour.
