Cílem této práce je popsat život a dílo spisovatele Karla Čapka a zasadit ho do kontextu doby. Zároveň je také cílem interpretovat jeho dílo a najít v něm znaky, které by osvětlily jeho pohled na pojmy demokracie a humanita a jak je chápal.
