Desertification and its solutions through major international projects

Abstract:

Desertifikace je v dnešním světě jedním z nejvíce řešených environmentálních problémů. Nejen, že ovlivňuje zemědělskou produkci, ale má také významný vliv například na životní úroveň obyvatel a environmentální migraci. S touto problematikou se dnes potýká mnoho států, ovšem některé z nich našly způsob, jak zmíněnému typu degradace půd čelit. Dnes již existuje mnoho iniciativ a projektů, které působí v postižených oblastech a svými činnostmi tvoří prostor pro udržitelné nakládání s přírodními zdroji, včetně půdy. Takovým příkladem jsou právě iniciativy v oblasti Sahelu a pouště Gobi. Těmto lokalitám je práce věnována. Zkoumané oblasti jsou zapojeny do programu Velké zelené zdi, díky kterým se podařilo půdu alespoň částečně obnovit a ani vyhlídky do budoucna nejsou špatné. Zkoumané lokality si ve svém počínání vedou dobře a dle zdrojů lze říct, že jdou správným směrem.

Abstract:

Desertification is one of the most-addressed environmental problems in the world today. It does not affect only the agricultural production, but it also has a significant effect on people's living standards and environmental migration, for example. Many countries are struggling with this problem today, but some of them have found a way to counter this type of soil degradation. There are already many initiatives and projects operating in the affected areas and their activities make place for sustainable management of natural resources, including land. Initiatives in the Sahel and Gobi deserts are such examples. These locations are dedicate to the work. The areas studies are involved in the Great Green Wall programme, which has succeeded in restoring the land at least partially, and the prospects for the future are not bad either. The sites studies are performing well in their actions and, according to the sources, they are going in the right direction.
