International adoption of Roma children: case study of the Infant care cente in Most

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje problematice dětí romské národnosti a jejich možností při hledání náhradní rodinné péče. V teoretické části jsou vymezeny základní pojmy týkající rodiny, dítěte, se zaměřením na děti romské národnosti. Dále je zde pospána teorie psychické deprivace a některé formy náhradní rodinné péče. Následuje část věnující se osvojení a podrobný popis celého procesu mezinárodního osvojení. Výzkumná část práce je zaměřena na sekundární analýzu dat získaných z ústavního zařízení Kojeneckých ústavů Ústeckého kraje, výročních zpráv a dat volně dostupných Úřadem pro mezinárodněprávní ochranu dětí. Celá práce je doplněna o rozhovor se sociální pracovnicí ústavního zařízení Kojeneckých ústavů Ústeckého kraje. Součástí práce je také případová studie zhodnocující důvody, proč se děti romské národnosti do tohoto zařízení dostávají a proč častěji nacházejí rodinu mimo Českou republiku.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of Roma children and their chances of finding alternative family care. The theoretical part it defines the basic concepts related to the family, child, focusing on Roma children. It also gives information on mental deprivation and some forms of alternative family care. The following section deals with adoption and a describes in detail the whole process of international adoption. The research part of the thesis is focused on the secondary analysis of data obtained from the institutional facilities of the Infant Institute of the Ústí Region, annual reports and data freely available by the Office for the International Legal Protection of Children. The whole work is supplemented by an interview with a social worker of the institutional facility of the Infant Institute of the Ústí Region. Part of the work is also a case study evaluating the reasons why Roma children come to this facility and why they more often find a family outside the Czech Republic.
