Cílem této magisterské diplomové práce bylo seznámit čtenáře s rozvojem ukrajinské literatury 20. století. Však hlavní téma práce bylo věnováno ukrajinskému spisovatelovi druhé poloviny 20. století, Jurijovi Ščerbaku, a jeho tvorbě, jelikož jeho postavu nelze prohlédnout na literárním platně tohoto období, protože je velmi neobvyklá kvůli svému uměleckému stylu, tématům, syžetům a postavám.
