Digital culture in the context of aesthetic education

Abstract:

Digitální kultura v současné době natolik prostoupila naši každodenní existenci, že znalost jejích charakteristických vlastností představuje jednu ze základních kompetencí, kterou by si měl osvojit každý žák střední školy. Zatímco technické hledisko digitální kultury již tvoří běžnou součást výukových osnov. Její estetický rozměr, kulturní dopady a nezanedbatelný vliv na naši recepci i tvorbu umění je v rámci výuky na středních školách dosud opomíjen. Tato diplomová práce se tedy pokouší napravit tento nedostatek a zabývá se otázkou, jakým způsobem by bylo možné začlenit digitální kulturu do výuky estetické výchovy Diplomová práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. První část se věnuje definici estetické výchovy a digitální kultury – centrálního pojmu celé práce. Z definice těchto dvou pojmů vychází specifický soubor cílů a příslušných výukových metod vhodných pro jejich naplnění. Dále představuje jednotlivé fenomény, které tvoří digitální kulturu s podrobným odůvodněním, proč právě tyto oblasti by měly být začleněny do výuky estetické výchovy. Druhá část diplomové práce má podobu návrhu uceleného výukového bloku sestávajícího se z osmi lekcí. Po jeho absolvování by měli mít žáci ucelenou představu o digitální kultuře z hlediska humanitních věd a umělecké tvorby.

Abstract:

Digital culture has currently so permeated our everyday existence that the knowledge of its characteristic features represents one of the basis qualifications which every secondary school student should acquire. While the technical point of view of digital culture already is a part of a curriculum, its aesthetic dimension, cultural impact and significant influence on both our perception and creation of art is in classrooms of secondary schools still neglected. The aim of this thesis is therefore to reduce this deficiency and it pursues the question as to how it would be possible to include digital culture in studies of aesthetic education. The thesis is divided into practical and theoretical part. The first part focus on the definition of aesthetic education and digital culture – the central concept of the whole thesis. A specific complex of goals and relevant educational methods suitable for their realization derive from the definitions of these two concepts. Next, it focus on describing in detail individual phenomenon forming digital culture with detailed substantiation as to why these areas in particular should be included in the studies of aesthetic education. The second part of the thesis take the form of a suggestion of a comprehensive educating block consisting of eight lessons after completion of which should the students acquire a comprehensive idea of digital culture as seen from the perspective of humanities and art.
