Abstract:

Bakalářská práce poskytuje vhled do pozitivních i negativních stránek hraní počítačových her. V teoretické části jsou rozebírány závislosti na nehazardních hrách. Jsou zde uvedeny možné komplikace přílišného hraní her, které se mohou projevit v oblasti zdravotní, sociální a pracovní. Pozornost je věnována také podstatě, příčinám, příznakům a postupu při léčbě závislosti. Jsou zde uvedeny základní pojmy a definice. Část je věnována profesionálnímu a amatérskému hraní počítačových her, kde je popsáno několik zajímavostí a informací ze světa profesionálních hráčů a jejich životů, k nimž se laik či rodič těžko dostane. Práce nabízí pozitivní a kladný vhled do světa hráčů, snaží se ukázat klady, nikoli pouze zápory, možnosti rozvoje různých schopností hráčů a jejich použití v běžném dospělém a pracovním životě. V empirické části práce jsou v rámci kvalitativního výzkumu metodou otevřeného kódování analyzovány rozhovory s profesionálními hráči počítačových her a dopad hraní her na jejich životy. Cílem výzkumu je získat informace o profesionální stránce her, kdy mladí lidé nehrají hry od dětství jen pro vyplnění volného času, ale pro získání finančních odměn, cen, pro získání zkušeností s komunikací, vedením týmu lidí, strategického myšlení a jiných schopností a dovedností. Práce se snaží ukázat, že hraní her přináší mnoho kladů, ze kterých mohou děti a mládež těžit i do budoucna. Informanti uvádějí příčiny, důvody a následky hraní her na profesionální úrovni a zmiňují se o kladech a negativech této činnosti ve svých životech.

Abstract:

This thesis tries to give an insight into the positive and negative sides of playing computer games. In the theoretical part, we analyse addictions to non-gaming games. The possible complications of excessive playing are mentioned. These can manifest themselves in health, social as well as job-related spheres of life. Attention is also paid to the nature, cause and symptoms of an addiction as well as to the process of curing it. We also list the basic concepts and definitions. In the part describing both professional and amateur gaming, we offer some interesting information from the world and lives of professional players, which is otherwise hard to obtain for most parents and people not involved in the gaming world. The paper shows both advantages and disadvantages of such a life, the possible development of various abilities and skills and their use in everyday working life. In the empirical part of the paper, we use the open-coding method of quoalitative research as a means of analysing both interviews with professional players and the influence gaming has had on their lives. The aim of this paper is to find some information about the professional side of gaming by young people for whom it is a way to get financial rewards, prizes, experience in communication, teamleadership, strategic thinking and other skills. The paper tries to show the possible positive future effects of gaming for young people. The informants mention causes, reasons and consequences of gaming on professional level as well as its positive and negative effects on their lives.
