Harmonization of motherhood and career on the labor market in the Czech Republic by 2021

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá harmonizací mateřství a kariéry ženy na trhu práce v České republice, a to k roku 2021. Práce se zaměřuje na to, jaké má žena v dnešní době možnosti nadále vykonávat své povolání a zároveň zvládat péči o malé dítě. Je zkoumána jak pomoc ze strany státu, tak i ze strany zaměstnavatele a jeho ochoty přizpůsobit ženě pracovní dobu tak, jak by při mateřství požadovala. Formou dotazníkového šetření je zjištěno, že je ze strany státu nízká nabídka institucionální péče pro děti mladší tří let a že ze strany zaměstnavatele je velká neochota změnit ženě plný pracovní úvazek na flexibilnější formu. Z výsledků analýzy vyplývá, že především z těchto důvodů žena s návratem do zaměstnání nespěchá a často se do původního zaměstnání ani nevrátí. Mezi další bariéry, které ženu při mateřství a kariéře provází jsou strach z vypadnutí z pracovního procesu a ztrátu informovanosti o aktuálním dění na pracovišti. Kvůli tomu mají ženy obavu se zpět na pracovní trh navrátit. V závěru práce jsou formulována hospodářsko-politická doporučení, jak by bylo možné ženám s harmonizací mateřství a kariéry pomoci.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the harmonization of motherhood and a woman's career on the labor market in the Czech Republic, it refers to the year 2021. The thesis is focused on opportunities a woman has today to continue to perform her profession and manage the care of a small child at the same time. Both assistance from the state and from the employer and his willingness to adapt the woman's working hours to the way she would need during maternity are examined. Through a questionnaire survey it has been found that the state offers low institutional care for children under the age of three and that there is great reluctance on the part of the employer to change a woman's full-time work to a more flexible form. The results of the analysis show that mainly for these reasons a woman is in no hurry to return to work and often does not even return to her original job. Among the other barriers that accompany a woman during motherhood and her career are the fear of falling out of the work process and the loss of information about current events at the workplace. Because of this, women are afraid to return to the labor market. At the end of the bachelor´s thesis are economic and political recommendations formulated on how it would be possible to help women with the harmonization of motherhood and career.
