This bachelor´s thesis deals with the legal definition of proceedings concerning foreigners' applications, obtaining residence permits and assessing the changes introduced by the change of residence law, which changed the competence for granting residence of foreigners from the Czech Police to the civilian component of the Ministry of the Interior.
