The Interaction of a Man and Nature in the Art Education

Abstract:

Disertační práce se věnuje mezioborovým kontextům výtvarné výchovy, konkrétně reflexi environmentálního tématu v praxi, a teorii tohoto oboru. Zaměřuje se tak na aktuální, dosud však hlouběji nezpracovanou problematiku, přičemž cílem je příspěvek k formulaci funkčních výchovných a vzdělávacích procesů na tomto interdisciplinárním rozhraní. Práce vychází z průzkumu pramenů literární, institucionální i osobní povahy, dále pak z rozhovorů s odborníky z jednotlivých oborů, kterých se práce dotýká. Součástí práce bylo také omezené šetření mezi učiteli výtvarné výchovy na druhém stupni základní školy a účast či participace na některých pro práci relevantních programech. Text sleduje primárně dva mezioborové dialogy, které se ukázaly jako klíčové pro uchopení a rozvoj environmetálního tématu ve výtvarné výchově. Jsou to: a) vztah výtvarné pedagogiky a sféry environmentálního diskurzu (který dnes pro edukační oblast zprostředkovává především environmentální výchova); b) vztah výtvarné pedagogiky a současného umění (především tvorby, která otevírá environmentálně relevantnější témata). První z těchto interdisciplinárních dialogů hraje podstatnou úlohu při formulaci obsahů a struktur environmentálních tematizací ve výtvarné výchově. U druhé vazby je pak zdůrazněna funkce „mezioborového mostu“. Vybrané segmenty umění mohou být totiž prostředkem a inspirací skutečně funkčních setkání výtvarné a environmentální pedagogiky. Tyto mezioborové dialogy jsou sledovány z hlediska jejich historického vývoje a interpretovány z hlediska jejich potenciálu a limitů. Poté jsou analyzovány vybrané konkrétní příklady aktivit, ve kterých prolínají umělecké přístupy s environmentálními tematizacemi a edukačními cíli. Sledovány jsou přitom čtyři tematické osy: přístupy zahrnutelné do rámce land artu, práce s odpadem a recyklační strategie, funkce nových technologií a vstup do veřejného prostoru.

Abstract:

The doctoral thesis is devoted to the interdisciplinary contexts of art education, namely to the reflexion of the environmental issue in the theory and practice of this field. It focuses on the current but not thoroughly elaborated issue and its aim is to contribute to the formulation of the functional education processes in this interdisciplinary interface. The doctoral thesis stems from the sources of literary, institutional and personal nature as well as from the dialogues with experts in particular disciplines with which is the thesis concerned. A limited research among art education teachers of the higher grades of the primary schools and participation in the relevant programmes are also the constituent part of the thesis. The text primarily follows two interdisciplinary dialogues that proved to be the key ones to grasp and to develop the environmental issue in the art education. These are i) the relationship of the art pedagogy and the sphere of the environmental discourse which is for the educational field mediated especially by the environmental education, ii) the relationship of the art pedagogy and the contemporary art – especially of the output that opens environmentally more relevant issues. The first of these interdisciplinary dialogues plays a significant role in the formulation of the contents and structures of environmental thematization in the art education. The function of the “interdisciplinary bridge” is emphasised in the second relationship. The selected segments of art can be in fact a means and inspiration of the truly functional encounters of art and environmental pedagogy. These interdisciplinary dialogues are observed from the viewpoint of their historical development and they are construed from the viewpoint of their potentials and limits. Afterwards, the particular selected examples of the activities, in which the art approaches mingle with the environmental thematization and educational aims, are analysed. Concurrently with this, the four thematic axes are observed: the approaches comprisable to the framework of land art, the work with garbage and recycling strategy, the function of new technologies and the entrance in the public space.
